Message Templates in Absorb LMS can be set up in a variety of different languages to better communicate with your Users. When a User’s profile language matches that of an enabled Message Template language, Absorb will typically send the Template that matches their language. E.g., a Message Template that has been set up in French, would be delivered to a User that has French selected as their default language within their profile.
There are scenarios, however, where a different Message Template may be sent instead. This depends on a variety of factors that could override the global Message Templates. We have compiled the below hierarchy of how Absorb will choose to send out a Message Template. The LMS will first check for a Course-Level Template, and then move on to look for each following template in order of those listed below.
- Course-Level Template: Any enabled Custom Message Template set up within a Course, ILC, Curriculum, or Course Bundle will override what is set up within the Message Templates under Setup in your portal.
- Custom Template Learner Language: Any enabled Message Templates that have been customized in your portal Setup which match in language to the User’s profile.
- Custom Template Course Language: Any enabled Message Templates that have been customized in your portal Setup which match in language to the Course language.
- Custom Template System Language: Any enabled Message Templates that have been customized in your portal Setup which match in language to your portal language.
- Default Template Learner Language: Any enabled Message Templates that matches the User’s language.
- Default Template Course Language: Any enabled Message Templates that matches the Course language.
- Default Template System Language: Any enabled Message Templates that matches the Portal language.
