There may be times when you want to assist your Users by providing them a faster method of accessing specific areas of your portal. Depending on your organization’s needs, this may be achieved by using Deep Links. This article will reference a variety of Deep Link types, all of which can be found in our Deep Linking article. You may want to review it in order to better understand how to develop the correct URL for your portal. Please note, the URLs referenced below will need to be encoded for any portals that utilize SSO. You can find more information in our Deep Linking article.

Accessing A Course

The dashboard in Absorb’s Learner User Interface (UI) offers flexibility to Admins in what is displayed to Users. One way to utilize the tiles and Deep Links together, is to offer Users a way to jump directly into a Course or Lesson.

E.g., If your Learners are required to take monthly compliance tests, you could have them taken directly to the new lesson. You would want to use the following deep link formula to do so:

https://yourdomain.myabsorb.com?courseId=courseid&lessonId=lessonid
Encoded: https%3A%2F%2Fyourdomain.myabsorb.com%3FcourseId%3Dcourseid%26lessonId%3Dlessonid

Return Search Results

While not as commonly used, having Users directed to a set of search results in the Learner UI can be a useful tool. Potentially, this could be used as a marketing tool in providing prospective Users a way to see all content related to a predetermined set of keywords.

E.g., By sending a marketing campaign targeted to a specific audience, a deep link could be integrated to provide search results to for public-facing Courses. These Courses could be those that they have shown interest in previously, or are related to previous purchases. You would want to use the following deep link formula to do so:

https://yourdomain.myabsorb.com/#/search/catalog/searchterm
Encoded: https%3A%2F%2Fyourdomain.myabsorb.com%2F%23%2Fsearch%2Fcatalog%2Fsearchterm

Resources

In some events, you may find it helpful to provide Resources to your Learners through an external source. This may be a public-facing website, or internal-only intranet. Whatever the case may be, you can still utilize Absorb to host your resources, and determine who they should be available to.

As a use case, an Admin could provide the details and description of Resources available in Absorb on the organization’s corporate website. You would want to use the following deep link formula to do so:

https://yourdomain.myabsorb.com/#/resources
Encoded: https%3A%2F%2Fyourdomain.myabsorb.com%2F%23%2Fresources

An additional link could send the User directly to a PDF, video, or other Resource, provided they meet availability rules. You would want to copy the link from the File Manager, and share it as needed. You would want to use the following deep link formula to do so:

https://yourdomain.myabsorb.com?ResourceId=resourceid
Encoded: https%3A%2F%2Fyourdomain.myabsorb.com%3FResourceId%3Dresourceid
