A Leaderboard is a tool to incentivize Learners to complete tasks which will earn them points to increase their rank among their peers.
To create a Leaderboard follow these steps:
- Access the Admin Experience.
- Open the Engage menu from the left-hand side and select Leaderboards.
- Select Leaderboards under the Add New section on the right-hand side.
- Configure the settings of the Leaderboard based on your requirements.
- Depending on if you want the Leaderboard to be presented to all Users or not, you may open the Availability tab and click Add Rule.
- Configure the Rule to target the Users who should be able to see this Leaderboard.
- Once all the General and Availability rules are correct, click Save.
General Tab Settings
The following describes each of the settings from the General tab:
| Field Name | Description |
| Name | Enter the Leaderboard’s name. The name identifies the Leaderboard to both Learners and Admins and is visible in the Admin and Learner experiences. |
| Description | Enter a description to provide additional details about the Leaderboard. This information is for administrative identification only and is not shown in the Learner Interface. |
| Start Date | Select the date when points will begin being included and calculated in the Leaderboard. Admins can update the Start Date at any time; once saved, points and rankings will be recalculated. |
| End Date | Select the date when points will stop being included and calculated in the Leaderboard. Admins can update the End Date at any time; once saved, points and rankings will be recalculated. |
| Publish Date | Select the date when Learners will be able to view the Leaderboard. This date does not impact point calculations. |
| Expiry Date | Select the date when Learners will no longer be able to view the Leaderboard. This date does not impact point calculations. |
| Author | Automatically displays the Admin who originally created the Leaderboard. This can be changed by selecting a different Admin from the drop-down menu. |
| Is Active | Toggle the status of the Leaderboard. Active: Available to Learners. Inactive: Visible only to Admins in the Admin Interface. |
Availability Tab
By default if no Rules are added to this section the Leaderboard will be visible to all Learners if the Is Active field is Active. Applying Rules restricts the visibility of the Leaderboard to a specific set of Users. An example may be if you only want a Learners from a single Department to use the Leaderboard, or those with a specific Competency.
