Course Activity Report: Edit Course Activity

Follow

Applies to: Starter, Pro, Plus, & Enterprise Plans

Absorb's Edit Activity workspace provides Admins with a significantly greater amount of Learner data on a student's Course Enrollment, than is provided in the overall Course Activity Report.

With this workspace, detailed information at the individual Lesson level is available, which extends to a Learner's individual Scores, their Lesson Attempts and even Statuses.

However, the single most valuable aspect of the Edit Activity (as indicated by its name) is the Admin's capability to be able to manually override a Learner's Activity - at both the overall Course and the individual Lesson level.

Instructions

Background

It will promptly become apparent to any Admin accessing the Course Activity Report on a regular basis, that the overwhelming majority of their time is spent in the Edit Activity workspace.

While the general Report offers the Admin very useful summarized Learner / Course data, as well opportunities to carry out various administrative tasks in and around the LMS; the Edit Activity workspace fully allows the Admin to get 'hands on' with all of the underlying information, that actually comprises a Course's Activity.

Being able to take a fully active role in directly managing the activity of a Course, is not only very helpful, but also very necessary. Under ideal circumstances, the normal path of a Learner's Enrollment through a Course will be uneventful and require no intervention whatsoever. But should anything fail to go as planned, the Admin can and will be called upon to step in and correct the problem(s).

As mentioned in the introduction to this section, the Edit Activity workspace operates at the overall Course and also has a smaller secondary version, residing at the individual Lesson level as well. With it, Admins can view and/or work with Learner data at both these levels, and even make a few limited changes for more than a single Learner at once.

Learner Information

The purpose of this first portion of the Edit Activity workspace, is to display general information on the Learner and the Course, in order to provide the Admin with a reference as to which User's Activity data they are viewing and/or changing.

Usage

From this point in the workspace, the Admin can view:

  • Learner information.
  • Course information.
  • Enrollment and Status information.

Given the purpose served by this portion of the workspace, the items found here cannot be changed by the Admin directly, and must be done so elsewhere in the LMS.

Components

When reviewing the Learner Information portion of the Edit Activity workspace the information available to the Admin is:

Course Activity

The purpose of this second portion of the Edit Activity workspace, is to display information on the present state of the Learner's training in the Course, and allow the Admin to make comprehensive changes to the Learner's Enrollment, at the overall Course level.

Usage

From this point in the workspace, the Admin can view:

  • Whether or not the Learner has finished their training in the Course, and if so, when the training was concluded.
  • What Score the Learner has, based on whatever Course training they have finished taking so far.
  • When the Learner's Enrollment in the Course is set to expire.
  • When the Learner should reasonably be expected to have finished their training in the Course.

Upon viewing this information, the Admin has the further option to manually override any of the above.
