Absorb LMS: Overview

Absorb is a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) that provides role based access to a unique website (Portal) where Course content is configured and made available to Users. A learning management system is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, and delivery of educational courses, training programs, or learning and development programs. There are various benefits to an LMS but crucial among them is the centralization of access and report data. This document aims to summarize the functionality of the LMS and what it can be used to achieve.

The LMS is comprised of four main experiences:

  • Learner Experience
  • Admin Experience
  • Reviewer Experience
  • Manager Experience

Each experience features a unique UI and menus differentiating them from one another. It is possible to access all of the experiences, or restrict access to just one based on roles. For more information about the Absorb Experiences click here.

Beyond the experiences there are three types of feature:

  • Core Functionality
  • Integrations
  • Paid Add-ons

Core Functionality represents the default series of functions performed by Absorb LMS. Core Functionality features include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating courses and tests.
