As an administrator, you can set up an Instructor Led Course (ILC) to notify the instructor(s) when the following events happen:
- Instructor is removed from a session or the session is deleted
- Instructor is added to a session
- ILC session has been updated
- ILC session is approaching
Instructor Notification Message Template
The Instructor Notification message template is used to notify instructors of the first three events:
- Instructor is removed from a session or the session is deleted
- Instructor is added to a session
- ILC session has been updated
This message template exists within the global Message Templates (Setup >> Message Templates) and at the ILC course level.

The message template content is broken up by various tags: {{#InstructorRemoved}}, {{#InstructorAssigned}}, {{#SessionUpdated}}
The content between the {{#InstructorRemoved}} tag will be sent when an instructor is removed from an ILC. The content between the {{#InstructorAssigned}} content will be sent when an instructor is assigned to an ILC. The content between the {{#SessionUpdated}} tag will be sent when a session instructor has been updated.
You can customize the message content at either the global or ILC level. However, please make sure to keep any modifications to the content between the tags. If any of the tags are modified or changed, then the Instructor Notification email will fail to send.
Session Reminder Message Template
Along with notifying learners, administrators, and supervisors, the Session Reminder message template is used to notify instructors of the last event:
- ILC session is approaching
This message template exists within the global Message Templates (Setup >> Message Templates) and at the ILC course level.
