Updating Incoming Single Sign On Metadata - Learner Interface Upgrade

Absorb's latest interface has made a change involving the ACS URL in the incoming Single Sign On configuration. This article will explain the change, as well as how to update the IdP with some common providers.

Note: This article covers the change in Absorb's ACS URL for portals with an already established Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration. If you are looking for steps on how to set up SSO for the first time, see Incoming SAML 2.0 Single Sign-On.

Background

The Assertion Consumer Service URL (ACS URL) is the address where an IdP redirects the user after they've successfully authenticated. In other words, it's the address where your learner is redirected after they've signed in through your SSO provider.

Absorb has updated the ACS URL in its current interface to enable features such as Account Provisioning.

Updating Your ACS URL

If the ACS URL in your IdP is currently https://company.myabsorb.com/account/saml, it should be updated in order for your portal to make use of new and upcoming features (e.g. Account provisioning).

The format for the new ACS URL is as follows:

https://company.myabsorb.com/api/rest/v2/authentication/saml

Where company.myabsorb.com is your portal's URL.
