Introduction
Dashboard Widgets are graphical components that display data for specific LMS features and actions. This article will provide an overview of each widget type available with the Admin Refresh interface.
Admins can customize their Admin Dashboard so that only the relevant widgets to their organization are visible on the dashboard. The Admin's preference determines the order and what filters are applied to each widget. Multiple tiles of the same widget can be added to the same dashboard, and multiple dashboards can be created for different audiences.
Note
An Admin does not have access to modify the Admin Dashboard templates, no matter the permission levels applied. Only a System Admin account has these permissions within an inherent role.
About
The Admin Dashboard is the default landing page of the Admin portal. To navigate back to the Dashboard from any page within the Admin portal, the Admin can select the Absorb logo on the top left side of the page. The following Admin Dashboard Widgets are customizable by the Admin, and not all listed below have to be used, only the widgets that make sense for your LMS.
Note that Widgets are updated on an hourly basis.
Widget Types
Course Enrollment Status - By Course
This widget displays details on five (5) selected Courses to show how users in specific departments are progressing and completing training based on their enrollment status.
Pressing an Enrollment Status at the top of the widget allows you to remove status counts from the graph.
Graph type suggestions:
- Place multiple enrollments and multiple course data using a stacked bar graph.
- A single course with multiple enrollments will look the best in a bar graph (not stacked).
- Multiple courses with single-digit enrollment statuses also look good in a bar graph
Tip: This widget will include Inactive Users unless filtered out on the Widget directly.
Course Enrollment Status - By Department
This widget displays information on up to five (5) selected departments to show how they are progressing through particular types or categories of courses. The widget can also be filtered to show completions from a department(s) for a specific course.
Clicking on one or more of the Enrollment Statuses at the top of the widget allows you to remove status counts from the graph.
Selecting the Department Name allows you to drill down to any Sub-department and its specific course enrollment data.
Graph type suggestions:
- Place multiple enrollment statuses and multiple department data using a stacked bar graph. Consider horizontal or vertical alignment depending on the placeholder's height and width.
- A single department with multiple enrollments will look the best in a bar graph (not stacked).
- Multiple courses with single-digit enrollment statuses also look good in a bar graph.
Tip: This widget will include Inactive Users unless filtered out on the Widget directly.
Competencies
This widget displays the count of users who were awarded the selected Competencies. You can add up to five (5) Competencies.
For the best display, place it in a -vertical-horizontal placeholder.
Saved Reports
This Widget will display the Saved Report Layouts and filters you have made and/or that your peers have made and shared with you.
The Widget will display the name provided by the Admin, the name of the Report page, the date the Report was saved, and the option to download the Report.
Note that some Reports and Admin pages still use the A5 interface. These Reports will not be visible from the Saved Reports Widget in the Admin Refresh interface. Admins can view the Saved Report Layouts for these pages on their specific Report page, or on the Saved Reports page in the Setup menu. These Reports will be available in the Saved Report widget once they are updated to the Admin Refresh interface. You can find a list of these Reports and pages below:

Generated Reports
This widget will display a list of the 15 reports you have recently generated. If there isn't any data, the widget will remain empty.
The widget will display the name provided by the Admin, the name of the report page, the date the report was saved, and the option to download the report.
Logins
This widget will show administrators the peak times for LMS usage by user login. Depending on the filter applied to the widget (and how much content is displayed), you will want to try different placeholders to see what fits best. The filter in the top right corner of the widget will allow Admins to change the timeframe of the data.
Tip: This widget is only visible to the default roles System Admin and Admin. Custom Roles cannot be configured to see this widget.
Rich Text Widget
This widget is flexible and will display elements to other LMS Administrators. You can add images, text, links, or other HTML content. You will want to try out different placeholders to see what fits best.
My Activity
This widget will display the course enrollment activity and user activity of the admin viewing the widget. Clicking on the underlined element will take the Admin to the relevant report. For instance, selecting the User's name within an enrollment activity will take you to the User Enrollment report. Clicking on the Course Name will take you to the Course Enrollment report.
