Course Settings: Catalog Visibility

Introduction

Catalog Visibility Course Settings are available for all Course types.

Settings

 

Category

Click the Choose Category button to select a Category to assign to the Course.  Only one category can be applied.

 

Tags

Click the Choose button to select Tags to assign to the Course.  Tags are used to help further categorize courses and resources in the Admin interface.  Courses and resources with tags applied also appear in search results on the Learner interface.

 

Thumbnails

Click the radio button to select an option:

  • If File = Click the Choose File button to upload a new image.
  • If URL = Enter an image URL address.

 

Posters

Click the Add Poster button to include a poster image for the Course.  Posters appear in an image slider/carousel within the Course details page.

Click the radio button to select an option:

  • If File = Click the Choose File button to upload a new image.
  • If URL = Enter an image URL address.

 

Mandatory Course

Click the toggle button to change the status settings:

  • If ON = The Course is prioritized within the Learner's My Courses view.
  • If OFF = N/A

 

Featured Course

Click the toggle button to change the status settings:

  • If ON = The Course is visible within the Featured area on the Dashboard. 
  • If OFF = N/A

 

Enable Recommended Courses

Click the toggle button to change the status settings:

  • If ON = A drop-down menu becomes available to choose Tags.  The Tags selected here are independent of the Tags selected in the Tags section above. 
  • If OFF = N/A

 

Notes

  • The Thumbnail image size should be 229 x 173 pixels.
  • The Poster image size should be 720 x 300 pixels.
  • Featured Courses: The order of how Courses are listed can be arranged by entering a number into the Featured Course Sort Order field.  Higher priority is assigned to Courses with smaller numbers.
