How to Add a Step to an Observation Checklist
The following instructions begin from the Add Observation Checklist pop-up window when creating an Observation Checklist Learning Object.

Click the Manage Steps button.
- The button is located in the Checklist section of the Add Observation Checklist pop-up window.
- This action will update the pop-up window to the Manage Steps dashboard.
Note: You can rename Checklist Sections. "Section #" is the default naming convention assigned.

From the Manage Steps dashboard, click the Edit button (pencil icon) for Step 1.
- This action will update the pop-up window to the Edit Step form.

Title
|
Enter the Step's Title. This is a required field.
Example: "Have the student demonstrate the CDC recommended handwashing technique."

Type
|
Click the drop-down menu to select the Step Type.
- If Yes/No = The Reviewer will choose either "Yes", "No", or "N/A" as the result.
- If Observation = The Reviewer will be able to enter a text-based response as the result.
- If 1-5 Rating = The Review will be able to select a response on a scale of 1-5 as the result.

Instructions for the Reviewer

The information entered into this field will appear on the Step to the Reviewer in the Review Experience. |
Mandatory

Click the toggle button to change the status setting.
- If ON = The Step is required to be graded to complete the Review of the Observation Checklist.
- If OFF = N/A

Click the toggle button to change the status setting.
- If ON = The Step is required to be graded to complete the Review of the Observation Checklist.
- If OFF = N/A

When finished configuring the Observation Checklist Step(s), click the Apply button from the Manage Steps dashboard.
- This action will return you to the Add Observation Checklist settings form.
