How to Add a Task Learning Object

The following instructions begin from the Syllabus Course Settings section of an Online Course build.

Instructions

1.

Click the Add Learning Object button

  • The button is located in the Outline Chapter 1 section of the Syllabus Course Settings block.
  • This action will open a pop-up window.

Note: You can rename Chapter Names. Chapter "#" is the default naming convention assigned.

Select the Task Learning Object Type

  • From the Add Learning Object pop-up window, choose the Task option by clicking its radio button or icon, then click the Next button.

Create Task Settings

Task Learning Object settings are divided into two sections: Details and Messages.

Setting Section: Details

Setting Details
Name Enter the Task's Name.  This is a required field.  The Name is visible in both the Admin and Learner interface.
Description Enter a Description.  The Description provides details about the Learning Object.  It is visible in both the Admin and Learner interface.
Task is Scored

Click the toggle button to change the status setting.

  • If ON = The Task can be scored and weighted.
    • Grade to Pass: Enter a number to represent the percentage correct required to complete the Task.
    • Weight: Enter a number to represent the total weight of the Task.
  • If OFF = N/A

 

Setting Section: Messages

Setting Details
Allow Notification

Click the toggle button to change the status setting.

  • If ON = Notification instruction messages are enabled.
  • If OFF = N/A 
Send Task Notification

Click the checkbox to change the status setting.

  • If Checked = Task email notification is enabled to alert administration and track completion.
  • If Not Checked = Task email notification is disabled.
Use Custom Template

Click the toggle button to change the status setting.

  • If ON = Click the Edit Template button to modify the default message template.
  • If OFF = The default email will be sent to Learners.

4. Click the Save button to save the Learning Object and close the pop-up window.
