In Analyze Essentials, Data Sources are groups of related data fields created for a specific reporting topic. Templates are pre-configured reports built from Data Sources that already contain the fields, filters and sorting required to accomplish a specific reporting task.

Data Sources
The following Data Sources are available for Custom Reports:
| Data Source | Description |
| Course Enrollments | Provides a comprehensive report of enrollment data within the LMS. This model focuses on reporting enrollments tied to individual Users, Courses, and Category details associated with each enrollment instance. It provides a detailed view of User specific information, including the User's Department and Group affiliations. |
| Session Enrollments | Delivers detailed insights into LMS Enrollments, focusing on essential attributes like User details, Session status, and completion metrics. It treats each enrollment record as a primary unit of analysis, ensuring accuracy and actionable data for optimizing training sessions. |
| Lesson Enrollments | Facilitates detailed reporting on Lesson Enrollments, Chapter Enrollments, Course Enrollments, review details, and summaries on attempts. It also provides Lesson, Chapter, Course, User, and Department details. It includes all Lesson types, including Tasks, Assessments, Surveys and Observation Checklists. |
| Users | Provides comprehensive reporting on LMS Users. It includes complete information on Users, their associated Departments, Login activities summary, their Groups, and Course Enrollments summary. This model enables a high level overview of User engagement and participation within the LMS, providing valuable information for reporting and analysis purposes. |
| Courses | Enables thorough reporting on a wide array of Course attributes within the LMS. It provides detailed information on many attributes like Description, Status, Type, Language, Bundle Names and more. Additionally, this model extends its coverage to include comprehensive reporting on Curricula, their associated Categories, and available Tags. |
| Lessons | Provides insights into various attributes associated with Lessons. This model facilitates comprehensive reporting on lesson-specific details, including attributes such as Lesson Types, associated chapters, the Course to which they belong, and information about Reviewers. |
| Sessions | Provides extensive reporting on various attributes associated with Sessions within the LMS. This model enables comprehensive insights into Session-specific details, including attributes such as Session content, Duration, the Course and its bundle, the Curriculum to which it belongs, Venue Details, Session Instructor information, and the details of the Session Approver. |
| Certificates | Tracks Certificates awarded to Learners upon successful Course completion. It provides detailed information about the Certificates, including Learner details, Course completion status, and Certificate validity. |
| Assessment Answers | Answer details for all Learners and all Assessments, Surveys, and Third Party Lesson types containing Assessments. |
| Assessment Questions | Summary of Answers for Assessments, Surveys, and Third Party Lessons containing Assessments. |
| Departments | Displays the Department hierarchy and allows filtering for multiple Departments. It provides details on Department progress in terms of completions and engagement. |
| Groups | Includes Group membership statistics and filtering by Groups. |
| Logins | Provides insight into User logins, including login success and filtering logins by User and role. |
| Learner Competencies | Details on Learner Competencies including description, proficiency progression, recent completions and milestones, and earned Competencies. |
| External Training | Details on External Training submissions and approval status. |
| Course Evaluation Questions | Provides insight into Course Evaluation questions, including associated Course and Answer summary. |
| Course Evaluation Answers | Provides insight into Answers to Course Evaluation answers, including written responses and ratings provided by Learners. |
