This article explains how to transfer an Absorb Create license from one User to another. License transfers require coordination between Admins and the Create Support Team. While Admins can assign unused licenses, only the Create Support Team can remove an existing license from a User.
Roles and Responsibilities
Both Admins and the Create Support Team have distinct responsibilities in this process. These are as follows:
Admin Responsibilities
- Assign unused Absorb Create licenses to new or existing Users through the Admin Experience.
- Locate the license assignment toggle by navigating to Users in the Admin Experience.
Create Support Team Responsibilities
- Remove an Absorb Create license from a User who already has a license assigned.
- Confirm license removal so the license can be reassigned by an Admin, or by the support team if requested.
Transfer a License
- Contact the Create Support Team to request license removal from the current User.
- Provide the following information in your request:
- The name or email address of the User whose license should be removed.
- The name or email address of the User who should receive the license.
- After the Create Support Team confirms removal, assign the license to the new User in the Admin Experience.
- Verify that the new User’s Role and Workspace permissions are configured correctly.

- License transfers always involve two actions: license removal by the Create Support Team and license assignment by an Admin.

What Happens to Existing Courses When a License Is Transferred?
When a license is transferred from one User to another, all Courses created by the original User are preserved in Absorb Create in the Workspace they were originally created in. By default, a User will see the My Courses view when accessing Absorb Create. To see all available Courses, click the My Courses dropdown and select All Courses. Alternatively, click the Workspaces dropdown in the top right corner to select the Workspace the Course was originally created in.
