The Welcome Tile is a Banner that can be added to your Learner Interface. This Banner can be customized in order to match your organization's brand standards. It is also a valuable way to drive learner engagement since it is the first thing your Learners will see when they log into your LMS.

The Welcome Tile can be customized to include, announcements, scale images, and personalized messages in any language available in your portal. The ability to personalize the Welcome Tile means that you can deliver different Welcome Tiles to various Departments in order to target their specific needs.

Adding a Welcome Tile

The following steps will walk through how to add a Welcome Tile to your Learner Dashboard. These are the required steps for creating a new tile; for additional options and common settings in all Tile types, please see the LMS Customization Guidelines - Dashboard Tiles article.

1. Navigate to Templates from the Setup tab on the left. This will open the Department Templates administrative report.
2. Select the Department Template that you would like to edit, then select Edit from the Actions menu. This will bring you to the Manage Templates menu for that Template.
3. Next, select either Public Dashboard or Private Dashboard depending on which one you would like to customize at this time. Then, expand the Content drop-down section.
   
4. Select Add New Content, and then select the Welcome Container Type. Here, you are able to customize the Welcome Tile as desired.
5. Be sure to scroll down and select Save on the bottom right of the Content section.

Customizing a Welcome Tile

Once you have created your new Welcome Tile, the next step is to customize it to your preferences. You are also able to preview the Welcome Tile in mobile, tablet, desktop, and full screen.

• A background image is not mandatory - if an image is not uploaded, the tile height is based on the Tile Height setting under the Options tab. The recommended image dimensions are 768 x 360 px.

• It is possible to revert back to the default Welcome Tile background image by deleting the uploaded image.
