Answers Report

You can use the Answers Report to review question-level results for a selected Assessment. This report shows each question and the answers submitted by Learners, so you can analyze response patterns and outcomes.

Access the Answers Report from the Assessments Report. Select a data row, then select Answers Report to open the report filtered to your selection.

Tips 
  • Opening a report may load a favorite saved layout or a shared default organizational report layout.
  • You only see data you have permission to view. For example, learner data you do not have access to won’t appear in the report.

 

Report Data

You can customize the report to show different data points. The available data fields (report columns) are listed below.

Note: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are included in the report’s default layout.

Data Column Description
Answered* Indicates whether the question was answered.
Attempt ID The unique identifier for the assessment attempt. The Learning Management System (LMS) generates this value when the learner submits the assessment.
Correct* Indicates whether the submitted answer was correct.
Correct Answer The correct answer as defined in the assessment settings.
Date Added* The date and time the question was added to the assessment.
Date Completed The date and time the learner submitted the answer.
First Name* The value from the user profile field: First Name.
ID The unique identifier for the answer.
Last Name* The value from the user profile field: Last Name.
Question Bank If the assessment uses a question bank, this shows the question bank name.
Question Name* The question name. This is often a default numeric value.
Question Order If the assessment uses a defined question order, this shows the ordinal number of the question.
Question Pool Name If the assessment uses a question pool, this shows the question pool name.
Question Pool Order If the assessment uses a defined question pool order, this shows the ordinal number of the question pool.
Username The value from the user profile field: Username. The username is the name-based identity used to distinguish each user in the LMS (also called the user login).
Weight If the assessment is weighted, this shows the calculated weight value for the answer attempt.

 

Report Actions And Mass Actions

After you open a report, you can perform administrative actions. Action commands become available after you select at least one row in the report table. The Actions menu appears in the right-hand panel and updates based on the number of rows selected.

  • Selecting a single row opens the Actions menu.
  • Selecting multiple rows opens the Mass Actions menu.

 

Note 

Action options depend on your Admin role permissions. Some options may not be available in your environment. Contact your local System Admin if you have questions about access.

 

Actions

The following actions apply to a single selected row.

Action Menu Option Description
Question Details Opens a workspace with details for the selected question.
Deselect Clears your current selection.

 

Mass Actions

The following actions apply to multiple selected rows.

Action Menu Option Description
Message Users Compose and send a message to individual users, a group, or a department.
Change Department Reassign the selected users to a different department.
Enroll Users Enroll the selected users in available training.
Deselect Clears your current selection.

 

Report Roles And Permissions

To access the Answers Report and view its data, Admins need the role permissions listed below. Your environment may use custom roles, permissions, or both.

 

Required Role Permissions

Role: Section Access Permissions Needed
Courses > Online Courses View or Modify
Users > Users View or Modify
Reports > Assessments Access

 

Suggested Role Permissions

Role: Section Access Permissions Suggested
Users > Departments View or Modify
Reports > Generated Reports Access

Note: Admins need Generated Reports permission to export report data to Excel or CSV.
