Software integration is the process of combining different software systems and applications to function together as one. It involves making disparate systems work together seamlessly, sharing data and functionalities across them. Absorb LMS offers a variety of Integrations which allow you to augment the functionality of your Portal by referencing another system/software you are using.
Distinct from a Paid Add-on an Integration inherently requires a connection with a third party software such as ADP.
An Integration typically requires a purchase, and is enabled behind the scenes by our client success team. If you are interested in an integration for your Portal please feel welcome to reach out to your client success representative.
At this time, Absorb offers Integrations from the following list:
- ADP Turnkey Connector
- BambooHR Turnkey Connector
- Namely Turnkey Connector
- Salesforce Connector
- Content Import
- Final Data Extract
- Scheduled Data Export
- Scheduled Data Import
- Absorb Connectors
- Historical Data Migration
- One Time Export
- One Time Import
- Change Requests
- Data Fix (Restore/Delete)
- RESTful API
- Single Sign On
- Infuse
Below we will go into further detail about some of the more popular Integrations.
Integration API
The Integration API enables seamless systems integration and data transfer between the LMS and external systems. This ensures that records are maintained with the most current information across platforms while reducing data duplication, and allows for efficient automation of business processes.
In the LMS, this Integration enables data management across multiple fields including Learners, Enrollments, Departments, Instructor Led Courses, and more.
Scheduled Data Feed
A Scheduled Data Feed is a recurring data transfer consisting of CSV files that occurs at regular intervals between Absorb and another system. This maintains data accuracy across integrated systems through transfers to a secure FTP site. This scheduled feed maintains current records for User Accounts, Profile Information and Third-Party Course titles.
Single Sign On (SSO)
Single Sign On (SSO) allows Users to access multiple applications through a single set of credentials. Users can then navigate between systems without having to enter multiple different credentials.
Absorb supports the following SSO protocols:
- SAML 2.0
- LDAPS (OpenID Connect/OAuth)
The SSO can be configured to be Identity Provider Initiated (IdP), or Service Provider Initiated (SP, available for SAML 2.0 only), depending on which system activates the process.
Custom Portal URL
You can customize your Portal's URL by implementing a managed or hosted Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate, a security protocol that protects communication over the internet. SSL Certificates consist of a file that digitally authenticates a website's domain, which enables a secure connection and protects information on the site.
Absorb offers three SSL Certificate options for clients that either own or purchase the root domain being used. These options are:
- Standard SSL Certificate: This option is fully managed by Absorb and will enable use of a single domain with the LMS. This covers domain formats domain.com and www.domain.com, or learning.domain.com.
- Wildcard SSL Certificate: This option is also fully managed by Absorb, but allows for use of multiple subdomains of the domain used with Absorb.
- Hosted SSL: This option requires clients to purchase the SSL Certificate themselves and provide it to Absorb. The Certificate is deployed into the SaaS LMS environment once provided.
Historical Data Import
Absorb offers a Historical Data Import to transfer data from a client's previous LMS to the Absorb LMS. This one-time data import of transfers Users' learning records to the new LMS, and prevents having to manually re-enter the data. This maintains data integrity and accuracy across systems while efficiently transferring information.
Course Content Import
The Course Content Import integration allows Users to upload or update content across multiple Courses at once. You can import up to 2500 files and Course packages in an import. This includes any files that are compatible with the LMS, such as PDF files or Certificates.
