How To: Automate Course Re-Enrollment

Combine Automatic Enrollment Rules with the Allow Re-Enrollment feature to create a recurring schedule for Learners to complete a Course. You can configure Re-Enrollment cycles to renew annually or at other regular intervals.

Configuring Automatic Course Re-Enrollment

To configure Automatic Course Re-Enrollment follow these steps:

  1. Access the Admin Experience with permission to Edit or Create Courses.
  2. From the Courses menu on the left-hand side, select Courses.
  3. Add or Edit a Course that you want to configure Automatic Course Re-Enrollment for.
  4. Navigate to the Completion section of the Add/Edit Course page.
  5. Click Allow Re-enrollment to toggle it ON.
  6. Configure when a Learner can Re-Enroll, and the Duration.
  7. Once a Duration is added, the Re-enroll Automatically toggle will appear. Click the toggle to turn it ON.
  8. Once all your changes are complete, Publish or Quick Publish the Course to save the configuration.

 

Additional Information

Consider the following information about Automated Course Re-Enrollment when using it in your own Portal:

  • Automatic Re-Enrollment will trigger as soon as the conditions are met. Make sure to review your configuration, and what it allows for.
    • In example, it is possible to configure your Course to award a Certificate that expires in a day, and Automatic Re-Enrollment that triggers a day before the Certificate expires, causing immediate Re-Enrollment upon Course completion.
  • It is possible to configure a Course with Automatic Re-Enrollment without the use of Automatic Enrollment Rules. These automatic processes are handled separately, at different points in a Learner's journey.
