Overview

The Absorb Learn App allows Learners to access the Learner Experience through their iOS and Android mobile devices, including phones, iPads and tablets. The branding of the Absorb Learn Mobile App will appear consistent with the Web Learner Experience. Learners will be able to sign in through the Service Provider Initiated SAML SSO settings that have been configured in the Portal Settings of the LMS or by entering the LMS URL and their Username and Password.

When Learners are signed in to the Absorb Learn Mobile App, they will have access to your browsable Course Catalog and they will be able to access an Online Course or Curriculum that have Catalog Visibility > Enable for Mobile App enabled and lessons that are:

  • File-based object lessons (e.g. PDF, DOCX, XLSX,etc.) housed in or outside your LMS
  • File-based videos (e.g. MP4) housed in or outside your LMS
  • eLearning created in SCORM 1.2 & 2004 lessons
  • TinCan/xAPI lessons
  • Assessment lessons

Learners can access these lessons online or offline through this App by downloading it on their mobile device.  If Learners complete a course offline, they can synchronize their progress once they have reconnected to the internet.

Note: Online Courses must have Availability > Allow Course Content Download enabled in order for the Learner to be able to download the Online Course Lessons and work offline.

Configuring Learn Mobile App for your LMS

In this section we will learn how to enable the Learn Mobile App on the LMS. The Mobile App option must be enabled or they will not be able to find it on their mobile device and download it.  Once it has been enabled, Systems Admins can brand the Mobile App with its own Logo, as well as validate the colors selected on the Theme look as expected on the Mobile App.

Note: If you need to enable the optional Service Provider Initiated SAML SSO settings configured in your Web LMS for the app, you can follow the directions in this article.
