This article lists the fields available for use in Absorb LMS Message Templates, describes the information each field provides, and identifies the Message Templates in which each field is available. For instructions on editing a Message Template and adding fields to it, see the Message Templates guide.
How Message Template Fields Work
Fields are data variables that you add to a Message Template to personalize the communications the LMS sends. When a Message is generated, each field pulls in specific information about the recipient User and their activity in the LMS, such as their name, an enrolled Course, or a transaction detail.
You add fields from the expandable Fields list at the bottom of the Body editor in the Edit Message Template menu. Click and drag a field into the Subject line or Body where you want the value to appear, and remove any fields that are not relevant to your organization. Some fields relate to features that are available as a separate purchase, such as Absorb Create. These fields only populate when the associated feature is in use in your Portal.
Available Message Template Fields
The table below lists each available field, the information it provides, and the Message Templates in which it can be used. In the Message Templates column, Only In: indicates that the field is available only in the listed Message Templates, while Not In the Following: indicates that the field is available in all Message Templates except those listed.
