Absorb Aura uses a credits system to manage use of certain AI features. All clients will receive an initial pool of credits as part of their plan, and can purchase more if needed.

Aura Features That Use Credits
Certain features in Absorb Aura consume credits from your organization's pool when used. These features are:
- Aura Learner Agent chats
- Course Extraction for Aura Learner Agent
- Aura Create
Note that Aura Admin Assist chats are free and do not consume credits.
Credit Usage Chart
Each Aura feature managed through credits has a corresponding credit cost. The table below outlines the cost for each feature.

You will receive a notification when your organization reaches these credit consumption thresholds:
- 70%
- 90%
- 100%
When all credits have been consumed, you can continue to use free Aura features like Aura Assist. When using Aura Create, you can continue using the chat, but will be prevented from generating a new Course preview until more credits become available. Course Extraction will not be available until more credits are added. If you would like to purchase more credits, your Account Manager or Client Success Manager can provide assistance.
Check Credit Usage
Administrators can review your organization's credit usage in two places: Client Settings, and dedicated widgets on the Admin Hub dashboard. The Client Settings view shows your organization's total consumed and remaining credits, while the Admin Hub widgets break usage down by department and learner over a customizable time range.
View Credit Usage in Client Settings
To view your credit usage, access the Admin Experience and follow these steps:
- Open the Account menu in the top right corner of the LMS.
- Click Client Settings.
- Click Aura configuration.
- Click Credit Usage.
Aura credit usage is displayed as the amount of credits consumed from your organization's total credits. Below the total credit usage, credit consumption is broken down by agent usage. The three agents displayed are: Learner Agent, Aura Create, and Extracted courses. Credit consumption by agent can be filtered by agent, Department, and date range. The available date ranges are 30 days, 6 months, 1 year, or a custom range.
View Credit Usage Widgets on Admin Hub
This is part of an upcoming release for Absorb Aura. More information can be found in the Release Notes.
Three Credit Usage widgets are available from the Admin Hub widget gallery: Credit Usage - Aura Learner, Credit Usage - Aura Create, and Credit Usage - Course Extraction. Each widget tracks a single usage source: Aura Learner covers Aura Learner Agent chat usage only, Aura Create covers Aura Create chat and course generation usage, and Course Extraction covers Course Extraction usage. Each widget shows a ranked list of Departments by credit consumption, a total-credits figure for the selected scope, and a drill-down into each department showing per-Learner usage, including name, email, credits consumed, and last activity.
System Admins only see data for the Departments and Learners within their managed scope. This is a System Admin feature.
To add a Credit Usage widget, access the Admin Experience and follow these steps:
- From the Admin Hub dashboard, click Add Widget.
- Select Add Widget on either the Credit Usage - Aura Create, Credit Usage - Aura Learner, or Credit Usage - Course Extraction from the widget gallery. Use the Search Bar to filter the available widgets.
- Select a date range. Options include 1 day, 7 days, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, year-to-date, or a custom range. The default is 1 month. Click See all to view all Credit usage for Aura for your organization.
You can click on a specific Department on a Widget to drill down into specific Learner usage insights. To remove a widget from your Dashboard, click the kebab menu on the widget and select Remove Widget.
Each widget displays a data-freshness indicator and a Tracking Started date. Usage data is sourced from Aura's usage tracking and refreshed on a delay of roughly a few hours, so figures are not real-time and usage before the tracking start date is not shown. An empty state appears when there is no usage for the selected agent, range, or scope. A refund shows as a reduction in the totals.
Distinct learners refers to the count of unique Learners who consumed credits within the selected scope and time range.
Credit usage for Aura Admin Assist is not shown in a widget, since Aura Admin Assist chats are free and do not consume credits. External Knowledge credit usage is not included in these widgets.

Do Credits Impact All Aura Features?
No. Credits are only consumed by Aura Learner Agent chats, Course Extraction, and Aura Create.
Aura Assist chats are free and do not consume credits. Other AI features outside of Aura are also not impacted by the credits system.
How to Purchase Additional Credits?
Your Account Manager or Customer Success Manager can assist in purchasing additional credits.
