Absorb Create is a paid add-on that allows licensed Users to create content using Absorb's Course Creation Wizard.
Accessing Absorb Create
Absorb Create can be accessed through the left hand menu in the Admin Experience. If a Create license has been assigned to your LMS account, a Create tile will appear in this menu. Click on the Create tile to access the available options for Absorb Create. We will give a brief overview of these options in the sections below.
If you do not see the Create tile on the left-hand side menu of the LMS Admin Experience, it means that your account does not currently have a Create license.
Create Content
This option redirects you to the Absorb Create app and opens the Course Creation Wizard. Here you can create a new Course using the existing Themes and tools, or upload your own resources to convert into a Course.
You can also access this option through the Actions menu on the Courses Report. Click the Create Content option in the Actions menu on the right-hand side of the report to open the Course Creation Wizard.
Create a New Course
The Course Creation Wizard provides several tools to create a new Course. The main option is to select a Theme from the existing Theme Templates in Absorb Create, or from previously saved Custom Themes. There is also the Start from scratch option at the bottom of the Theme Templates section, which opens a new window with further customization options to design your own Theme.
After selecting a Theme and naming the Course, you can add content to it. This can range from slides with written content to videos, knowledge checks, and more.
More details about creating Courses in Absorb Create can be found in the article here.
Themes
You can customize the appearance of a Course using a Theme. In Absorb Create, there are a set of default Theme Templates to choose from, or you can design your own Theme (using your organization's brand colors and fonts) and save it as a Custom Theme Template for later use.
It is also possible to make a Custom Theme Template AI Compatible to use with the Create AI tool. You can read more about creating Custom Themes with Create AI here.
Manage Content
This option opens Absorb Create in the Courses tab of the last Workspace that you used. This displays any Courses you have created that are in the selected Courses Category. This filter is set to My Courses by default. This Course Category is unique compared to other Categories, as it is the place where all of your current work can be stored for quick access. My Courses will display any Create Course that has the star toggle enabled on that Workspace, or any Course you have created there and not toggled off the star.
From the Courses tab you land on, you can search for and edit an existing Course, manage Course Categories, navigate to the Reviews section, access the Media Library, create a new Course, or move to a different Workspace.
Edit an Existing Course
Click on the pencil icon next to any Course to edit it. This will open the Course editor and allow you to make changes to the Course.
Course Categories
Courses can be grouped based on certain criteria using Categories. This can be used to group Courses on a specific subject, topic, or other criteria. You can navigate to other Course Categories using the Category drop down menu. New Course Categories can be added using the '+' button in the Course Categories drop down. Note that a Course can only be assigned to one Course Category.
The two default Categories, All Courses and My Courses, are similar but function differently. All Courses will show all Courses within that Workspace, regardless of the Course Category. My Courses will display any Course that you have starred in the Workspace, or any Course that you have created there and not disabled the star toggle.
Review Courses
Users can request that other Admins review their Courses prior to publication. When you are assigned a Create Course to review, it can be accessed in the Reviews tab.
Click on the speech bubble icon to open the Course and begin reviewing it.
You can find more information about Reviews and Content Reviewers in this article.
