This quarter's updates are focused on helping our customers build a learning experience that fits their unique use cases. These updates will be deployed alongside version 5.119.0 of the Absorb LMS.
This article provides an overview of the forthcoming changes to Absorb LMS alongside the Q3 2024 Release. Additional documentation including updates to existing articles, brand new articles and updates to relevant change logs will be implemented on August 16th.
Please be advised that this release will no longer include an E-Commerce refresh as previously stated. This feature will be available in a release in the near future and will be communicated to clients prior to deployment.
New Features
The following components are new to the LMS.
API Functionality
The Absorb RESTful API v1.5 will now be referred to as the Absorb Integration API. Additionally, Manager Experience and External Training functionality has been added to the API. The API documentation has been updated to a modernized look and feel, including adding the Change Log directly to the API documentation.

Credly Digital Badge Connector
Learners can now highlight their accomplishments in the LMS with a shareable, digital badge from Credly.
Please note that to use this Connector you must have the following:
- A license for both the Absorb LMS and Credly. Note that Absorb does not bundle or resell Credly. A license for it must be obtained separately.
- A subscription to the Credly Connector as an LMS add-on.

Add Manager Sync to BambooHR Connector
BambooHR Connector clients can now use the Manager Experience feature, providing people leaders with access to their team’s learning progress in a simplified, user-friendly workflow.

Create AI Custom Themes
You can now generate AI Courses in Absorb Create using your own brand colors and fonts. This enables a cohesive appearance for all training materials and simplifies the course creation process.

Content Retirement Notifications
You can now simplify the content retirement process with a new notification feature. Content Administrators can now receive notifications by email when content they’ve converted is set for retirement. Content Administrators can then replace the content using current replacement workflows.

Bulk Course Edit
You can now reduce the time required to update Online Courses and streamline the Course management process with bulk editing.

Department “Is Not” Rules
We've streamlined Group creation by excluding specific Departments with our new “Is Not” operator.

Unlock all Course Settings instantly by expanding Settings with a single button for Course/Curriculum/ILC and Course Bundle creation.

Custom Job Roles (Skills Product)

Salesforce Connector Enterprise Ready
We've made several improvements to our Salesforce V2 Connector for a more seamless experience.

Learner Dashboard Custom Ribbons
Drive engagement with a more curated Learner Dashboard by easily highlighting Courses on selected topics based on the Course Category or Tags. This improves course discoverability with targeted recommendations.

Enrollment Key Re-Enrollment
We've made it easier to re-enroll Learners into previously completed Courses. Enrollment Keys can now be used to re-enroll into Courses where re-enrollment has been configured and the Learner using the key meets the eligibility criteria.

Skills Product Enhancements
New updates to Absorb Skills allow for more custom Learning Paths through the new Job Roles page, Message Templates, and Course Searchability.

Manage Job Roles Page: A new page on the Job Roles Report that supports you in efficiently locating your organization’s Job Role, and allows you to preview the details to make customizations when necessary.

Course Searchability: For Learners who cannot find a suitable Course from the recommendations given on screen, the Search Bar will allow Learners to access content from anywhere within their LMS and add it to their Learning Path. This removes the Admin as a blocker in tagging their own Courses to Skills and Competencies.

Course Player UI
We've updated the Course Player with a more intuitive display. The updated display includes better support for full-screens to help differentiate between our Course Player and the User’s browser.

Department Admin Filter
You can now find who manages a specific Department using a new Filter in the Users Report.

Relative Ranges in Admin Dashboards
Scope Competencies data to precise time ranges with new Date Range Filters such as 'Last Week' and 'Yesterday'.
