This quarter's update focuses on making Absorb more connected, improving User quality of life, and enhancing how you manage Courses and Reports. We've made improvements to help Absorb work better with other tools you use, made adding Voice Over to Courses easier, and expanded the customization of Reports. These updates pertain to version 5.118.0 of the Absorb LMS.

Release Documentation

This article provides an overview of the forthcoming changes to Absorb LMS alongside the Q2 2024 Release. Additional documentation including updates to existing articles, brand new articles and updates to relevant change logs will be implemented May 10th.

 

New Features

The following components are new to the LMS:

 

Webhooks

Now you can set up Absorb to automatically signal when something happens in the LMS in real time, like starting a training session or finishing a course. This means less manual work and quicker updates.

Connectors for HubSpot and SAP SuccessFactors

We've added new ways to connect with these popular business tools, making it easier to match data and keep everything in sync.

Two-Way Sync for Workday and Dayforce

Now, information can flow both ways between these HR systems and ours. This means the progress of your employee's training is always up to date.

Create AI Voice Over

You can now add spoken voice to your Courses using AI, in any of 35 Languages.

Updated Features

The following existing LMS components have been modified or expanded:

 

Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager

Changes on the Google side mean the configuration steps to use GA4/GTM with Absorb LMS have been updated. Our documentation on configuring this integration will reflect changes to the Google UI.

We've made our connection with Salesforce more reliable, reducing errors and ensuring smoother data sharing.

Quick Access to Skills Tools

Learners can now jump right into their Skills workflow from their Dashboard using the Learning Path Tile. There are also new report Actions to help Admins find the right content to support your Skills implementation faster.

Control Over Media Files

Decide who can see and use media files in our system to keep your content secure and organized.

Backdating Curriculum Completion

Set completion dates based on when someone completes a program, not just when they sign up for the Curriculum. This keeps records accurate.

Better Reviewer Experience Checklists

We've added more fields to identify Learners in Reviewer Experience checklists, reducing confusion and making it easier to review their work. The additional fields are:

  • Username

  • Department

  • Email

  • Location

Task Notification Tweaks

New options in Task notifications help clarify who did what, simplifying management.

Currently the only dynamic field related to the User within this Message Template is {{Learner Username}} which is not always the best way to identify the Learner. We’re adding {{Learner First Name}} and {{Learner Last Name}} as new dynamic fields for easier User identification. If added to the Message Template, these dynamic fields will clearly indicate the Learner which submitted the Task for approval.

Break Time in Live Courses

Specify break times in live training sessions, making sure the recorded times reflect actual learning time excluding break time.

Improved Accessibility Settings

  • New settings help Users with visibility needs navigate Courses more easily, making learning more accessible for everyone.
  • We have updated the color palettes for the Admin Experience to be WCAG compliant, ensuring better accessibility and usability for all Users.
  • We will be changing the default color palette for Learners, but this update will only apply to new customers to maintain consistency for existing Users.
  • Learner Experience: Status icons in the User Transcripts have been visually refined.

Analyze BI (Paid Add-On) - Multi-Language Support

We’ve expanded our Language support in the Analyze BI interface from solely English to include ten additional Languages. This update aims to offer additional Language access, support regulatory Language compliance, drive global growth, and improve User engagement for Analyze BI clients. Designers and Viewers can now interact with the User Interface in the following Languages:

  • Chinese (Simple)

  • French (France)

  • German

  • Italian

  • Japanese

  • Portuguese (BR)

  • Russian

  • Spanish (ES)

  • Spanish (LA)

  • Dutch

Analyze Essentials (Paid Add-On)

New Report Options for Session Enrollments: You can now make custom reports that show who's signing up for and attending Sessions, giving you a clearer picture of how engaged your Users are.

Flexible Report Scheduling: Set up reports to run automatically at the frequency you need — daily, weekly, or monthly — and decide when they should stop. This helps you stay on top of things without constantly setting up new reports.
